Thank you for taking a chance to visit Rowan County 9-1-1 Online.  We hope to be able to educate, inform and make it easier for you to utilize our services.  Find out about our mission statements and philosophy and get the answers to some frequently asked questions.  We’d like you to know all there is about how to report a fire and what different questions you may be asked if you want to report a medical emergency or a crime.

May 18, 2008 - EMS Week Public Safety Displays.  Rowan County 911 was pleased to help out EMS with the kickoff of their 2008 EMS Week.  As part of the opening days events, we participated in a public safety public display at the Salisbury Mall.  Click here for pictures!

May 16, 2008 - EMS Week Proclamation.  The Rowan County Board of Commissioners has recognized the Emergency Medical Services system in Rowan County.  This proclamation includes the entire system in Rowan County, from the time that one of our 911 Telecommunicators receives the call and begins the Emergency Medical Dispatch protocol to the time that the patient arrives at a health facility for treatment.

May 5, 2008 – Rowan 911 Gets First GIS/911 Analyst.  Following a restructuring of county departments, Columbus Hawks has been named the GIS/911 Analyst for Rowan County Department of Telecommunications.  Hawks who has been with the county for over four years came to us from Surry County.

April 23, 2008 - Updated Routing Guide.  An updated routing gude has been added to our website.  Visit our Streets and Routing Information page.

March 7, 2007 – Salisbury Millworks Fire.  The entire staff of the Telecommunications Department expresses our sympathy to the families of the two Salisbury Fire Department Firefighters, Justin Monroe and Vic Isler, who tragically lost their life battling the Salisbury Millworks Fire  For more information, visit the Salisbury Fire Department online.
